My three and 1/2 year old and I attended the musical on Friday night. The Sound of Music is one of her favorite films/musicals. The talent in this school district is top-notch, and that was evident in the performance and preparation of all involved. Congrats.
Although my daughter loved the performance and lip-sync'd many of the songs, I did hear her tell her mother that "they missed a few parts from the 'movie': the puppets and the 'wedding'...ahhhhh, young critics.....

Science Runs Wild at Schick...One Brick at A Time.....(Grade 1)
Yesterday, Mrs. Reitz's first grade class hosted students and professors from Penn College. The guests talked to the students about brick making. As part of the FOSS unit, Pebbles, Sand, and Silt , students made bricks with Mr. Wayne Sheppard and his students from PCT majoring in construction management. First grade students have been learning about earth materials ranging in size from silt to boulders. Students have screened rocks by size and learned the different characteristics of rocks. Yesterday students were making their own bricks using clay, straw and water. Mr. Sheppard explained about the differences in bricks and how bricks are made in factories.

I may look cool....
...but, boy did my mouth hurt yesterday after I had two cavities fixed. This is me in between having my fillings repaired. I took this picture during my surgery and sent it to Mr. Rhoads and Mrs. Greevy...they thought that I looked cool...my cheeks are still swollen this morning...

I got "Car Washed" Today
Mrs. Morehart's class today gave me a "car wash." You can see me sitting in the chair. This responsible class gave me such exquisite compliments. Mrs. Morehart wheeled me through the carwash. Each volunteer said nice things about me. Each student was responsible and said what they adore about Mr. Greevy. They made me not feel melancholy. You will see Mrs. Morehart in one picture protecting her rules sign. Exquisite job, Kindergarten.
It made my heart sparkle....positive comments are so nice to hear. Thanks, Mrs. Morehart's room!
