Mr. Rhoads and I were spending a reflective conversation about today at Schick and some events of the day stood out. Some were captured on film, while others were just gently noticed. Check out The Little Lancer Blog to see article after article about today at Schick.
Those gently noticed moments not caught on film? Well, the kindergarten teachers were seen caroling outside of Mrs. Dunlap's room because it was her birthday, our intervention specialists were forging relationships and making visits to homes of some special kiddos, one teacher discovered and celebrated a new way to reach a hard-to-reach student, individual learning plans were being implimented, a veteran teacher shared a magical moment from her instructional day, one student who was moving had hugs from teachers and administrators all throughout the day, the librarian was compiling a favorite book list from the teaching staff while working on how to make those books part of her permanent collection, a book on trains was donated to the library by a vendor, a parent dropped off a basketball pump so the playground basketballs could be 'pumped up,' parents attended an afterschool music clinic, Mrs. Cooley worked Cooley Magic all day with many lifesaving acts that benefitted kids, and an usher at the Community Arts Center gave the greatest compliment of all about our 1st and 2nd grade students' behavior....I could go on and on, but today was a great day to be a LITTLE LANCER.
